Q: Why would I pay for instruction when I could just go on YouTube?

A: Most of my students are actually more confused and frustrated after watching makeup tutorials on YouTube because they get a lot of conflicting information from "influencers" who are not professional makeup artists or are not familiar with the unique struggles of the MTF audience. Additionally, most YouTube makeup artists assume their audience is already familiar with the basics of makeup and brushes. They're not designing their videos with newbies in mind. My lessons are designed for those who were assigned male at birth and are absolute beginners.

Q: What's the difference between "trans makeup" and "regular makeup?"

A: An individual who was assigned male at birth (AMAB) will usually have different bone structure, skin texture, beard shadow, and masculine features. However, those aren't the things that present the biggest challenge. Most cisgender females have practiced their makeup skills since their teens, whereas males have had no exposure to makeup over their lifetimes. Most of my students are coming to me as adults and are overwhelmed by the amount of information they must process. I teach them how to break it down into pieces and to work with the features they've got.

Q: Do you have short lessons available for specific looks?

A: Yes! I do short lessons for people who are adept at makeup but just want to learn a specific technique or style, or who are struggling with specific tasks, such as false lashes or liquid eyeliner. I also teach SPFX makeup for Halloween.

Q: What's included with your lessons?

A: It depends on which lesson you book. Full-length lessons include everything from A-Z (skincare, beard cover, false lashes, taping, contouring, day vs. evening makeup, natural vs. glam, etc.) and it comes with the full set of my 9-Volume Nifty Guide Series of Makeup E-Books/Product Guides.
